Welcome to ACP
Together We Can … ACP’s Great Transformation Begins!
It’s customary this time of year to reflect back on the accomplishments and challenges of the past year, to celebrate success, and to dream about the future. For some, it’s renewing personal and professional goals, and for others a simple New Year’s Resolution will do. But 2012 is not going to be a typical year in the 29 year history of the Association of Contingency Planners and its ~2500 members. It’s going to be a year of Great Transformation!
History tells us that the Great Explorers were expertly prepared for the Great Expeditions. Their success (and their lives) depended upon having the right equipment, the right supplies, the right training, and most of all, the right people! The Great Explorers had to deal with less than adequate information, rumors, educated guesses, and speculation, and yet they overcame great obstacles. Take for example … Meriwether Lewis who used inadequate maps to help learn about the Missouri River and ultimately helped Lewis make the necessary preparations for what became one of the most famous expeditions in America’s history … the Lewis and Clark Expedition!

ACP Welcomes New Chapter
It is with great pleasure that The Association of Contingency Planners (ACP)
announces the establishment of the Kentuckiana Chapter. Consistent with our Mission, this chapter will provide robust programs consisting of professional development and networking opportunities for public and private sector professionals with contingency planning responsibilities in and around the Louisville area, according to Brian Strong, Chapter Services Director. Given the challenging economic and business environment, being able to present a compelling value proposition to an established independent contingency planning organization represents a significant milestone in ACP’s history.
The Kentuckiana Chapter will also be represented at the upcoming NLC, which further demonstrates their desire to become engaged in Association activities. Chapter president, Lisa Baize, states, “We are very excited to be a part of ACP and look forward to working closely with organizations across the Louisville and northern Indiana region to promote Business Continuity and Emergency Response planning.”
